What to Ask a Ghost

Home

Tongue-Tied?  Not sure what to say to a ghost?  We've been there!  It's easy to feel uncomfortable.  What do you say to someone who might have been dead for years, decades even?

Here are a few ideas to get you started on the road to meaningful communication with ghosts.  Keep in mind though, some spirits don't know they are dead.

  • "How long have you lived here?"
  • "Where are you from?"
  • "Do you know what year it is?"
  • "Do you live here, or are you just visiting?"
  • "What is your name?"
  • Why are you here?"
  • "Do you have a message for us?"

We always like to ask if there is a spirit present, to give us a sign, to let us know.  We tell them we are not here to harm or hurt them, or to disturb their home, only to observe.  If you know the history of the place, if there was a death or a murder, ask them about that, if they know who did it, why it was done, if the spirit is actually a victim or just a resident, etc.
